L-Carnosine, a dipeptide, is made of amino acids, alanine and histidine, fused together. It is present in the heart, brain, muscles, skin, stomach and kidneys. L-Carnosine is produced naturally in the body by an enzyme called carnosine synthetase.

 

L-Carnosine assists in cellular rejuvenation for healthy aging through its effects on FREE RADICAL DAMAGE and glycosylation. Oxidized proteins from glucose results in protein cross-linking and is suspected in the loss of genome integrity, loss of cell function and faster aging. L-Carnosine also retards lipid peroxidation and stabilizes cell membranes to protect the brain’s aging process.
